Part Two: Question’s Asked

You all have been patiently waiting for part two.  Do you remember the day the chicken’s came?  I asked you to stay tuned, because question’s asked was going to lead to more things given.  One week turned into many weeks.  So many that we began to doubt that anything would even happen.  So many weeks that perhaps you have forgotten.  And then they were here.  Ours.  Unreal.  Free.  Huge gift.  Ahhh…..but I am getting ahead of myself.

Each week on Wednesday afternoon’s I tutor a 9 year old girl in English.  Her mother read to her in English when she was a baby until she was two years old.  That is all the English she was exposed too. Currently, she understands and speaks at a 2nd grade level.   I knew her family owned a pure bred Golden Retriever.  So one day I asked her Mom “questions”.  Pure Bred pups are very coveted amongst the missionary community here.  They are also extremely expensive.  The cheapest goldy would run at 4 juta (a little over $400.00).  But have been known to sell for as much as 10 juta.  So when our children started praying for a pure bred Golden Retriever, you can imagine Darron hanging onto his billfold.

As it turns out:  The father of the girl I tutor, has a friend whom he works with.  This man has to travel all over Papua, for extended periods of time.  Sadly, his wife and children just left him and moved to Jakarta.  Which meant his Golden Retriever dogs were home alone for days on end.  He really desired for them to go to a loving family with a big yard.  And we just happened to be the family chosen.  The male is 3 and the female is 2.  He was called Hui…..but we call him none other then “Buddy”.  Her name was/is “Princess”.  They are not related, and will have future liters.  We are already getting so many requests for puppies.  The dogs have just slipped right into our family routine and life, along with our hearts.  They already bark at anyone entering our yard.  They are well trained and walk nicely on leashes.

We feel so blessed by this huge gift.  The man would take no money from us.  He was so sad to give up his dogs.  Many people have commented how rare his behavior was, that he was more interested in the dogs going to a good home, then making money.  I praise God that He loves to give great gifts to His children.  I so remember the children saying goodbye to their pets in America and how much it hurt.  Now they would say that they have been given too…pressed down, shaken together until it overflows…..  Love, Love, Love, telling this story to you!
