Tongue Tied

At 4 a.m. this morning Darron and I arose to prepare for a much anticipate extremely full day.  By 5:15 we had the boys up and were swallowing our rice, gravy and pineapple....whether tummies were ready or not.  5:45 we left our little dorm rooms and walked to the angkots.  We knew the journey could take up to two hours to get to the language school.  This morning we sped right along, arriving at the school a whole hour early.  Now to entertain boys for an hour before class! : )

A nice angkot.

Inside an angkot with just our family,  add 13 more people.....

Angkots are great for some extra snuggle time.

If you are an hour early to class you could join Aubrey in an upper body strengthen  workout.

8:00 a.m. quickly arrived (after worshiping together outside and playing hide the tiny object "hot or cold").  And so began our learning to speak Bahasa Indonesian.  In only minutes our heads were spinning with new words and by our first break at 10:00 a.m. we all had very tight shoulders and gave each other a quick massage.  The intense program is what we signed up for and intense is an appropriate word.  Our teacher was dynamic and held our attention, changing the learning style frequently to keep us stimulated.  Homework assignments were given.  Wow.............

At noon we ate at the little local eatery.  Promise to take some pictures soon.  It will make our mother's stomach's quiver and the church members might pray a little more fervently for us. : )  Then off to see local houses; however, it only turned out to be one as not many people only want to rent for 4 months.  The house was very close to the school and secure.  Decent.  Sigh.  This decision is extremely difficult for us.  We will make it tomorrow.

Not the local eatery! : )  But a reward for being brave enough to try the local eatery. : )

Now it is 8:00 p.m.  We are exhausted.  The children are bathed and tucked in bed and we must go there too.  As tomorrow will bring another day of language school and some decisions as to where we will live for the next four months.  Praying that God will impress our hearts and we will make the right choice for the family.  Please join us in prayer as you are awake and we sleep.  Many thanks.  Stay tuned for the rest of the story...........

  1. I'll be praying for you today, Ruth! I am sure your bodies as well as your minds could use the extra sleep instead of the extra drive time.
